The FC Dallas 07 U10 Select girls team was created at the request of Club Director George Sasvari in fall 2015 from a group of highly motivated and athletic 8- and 9-year-old girls. The girls selected for the team are self-driven and rarely require outside influence to perform at their full potential. During training, the focus is on principles of possession and implementation of the academy’s core values, says Coach Nina Baker. Setting goals such as success with 1v1, 1-2 touch passing play, supportive movement, creativity, and finishing from runs, counter-attacks, and restarts has led to success.
