Miguel Gonzalez, GSA 01 Premier team co-captain, won the U.S. Youth Soccer 2016 Goal of the Year award, which was announced at the U.S. Youth Soccer Awards Gala in January. The award-winning goal came at the end of a tough Southern Regional Premier League game on September 5, 2016, against Concorde Fire Central Elite (GA), which ended in a 4-4 tie. Miguel lives in Snellville with his parents, Miguel Sr. and Lorena Gonzalez. His brother, Diego, is a sophomore goalkeeper for Dalton State College. Miguel left GSA for a while last February to train with the C.F. Pachuca Youth Academy team in Pachuca, Mexico (part of Liga MX).
