One of the oldest soccer organizations in the state of Georgia, Athens United Soccer Association (AUSA) was created after two smaller soccer clubs, Athens International and the Apple Jacks, joined forces way back in 1972. Athens United offers all levels of play for young soccer players from ages 3 to 19, and while the club has been successful on a competitive level, Executive Director Lloyd White says the club’s philosophy is to encourage participation in soccer as a fun, wholesome activity and to make its surroundings better places to live.
