ABIGAIL CALDERON ABBY CALDERON PLAYS FOR EMERALD FORCE 02 CHIVAS AND COACH DERRICK LONG. “WHAT MAKES ABBY special goes way beyond her technical skills and playing ability on the field,” Coach Long says. “She has such a big heart for her teammates and a lot of respect for the players she plays against. Her skill level is what all college coaches look for, but her heart is what all teams need.” Long believes the one aspect of her game that sticks out the most is the vision she has on the field. “She really grasps the concept of team play and tries to get everyone involved.” Additionally, she leads by the effort she puts out at practice and the focus she has when the team is between the lines. Outside of the sessions, she has an infectious personality that everyone loves to be around. “She is definitely the bar that I want all of my players to strive to reach,” Long sums up.
