Courtney Eckel is center back with Chargers TPA G2002 Select, coached by Steve Kulavic. “One of Courtney’s strengths is her ability to play the game when she is off the ball,” her coach says. “She not only positions herself when the play is away from her, she directs her teammates who are both on and off the ball. She is fearless on the pitch as well, going in for tackles and attacking from the back position. “Courtney is one of the team leaders and does a great job of coming to the coaches on behalf of the team. This includes tactical solutions to team dinners, and she does a great job of welcoming new players to the team during the selection period. She represents the team and the Chargers in a way that definitely makes her a leader.” Courtney has been playing soccer for eight years. She leads by example both on and off the field. Coach Kulavic is proud of her commitment to her teammates and to the Chargers Soccer Club.
