Jake Estes has been playing soccer his whole life. Presently, he’s Coach Austin King’s center back on the Gulf Coast Texans 00 Boys. But he gets practice at home too. “Jake’s older brother is an incoming freshman playing at UNF and the two of them go at it all the time,” King laughs. “He’s a great 1v1 defender, and a general in the back keeping everyone in position. Jake is very vocal in practice and games, and is always giving it 100 percent, no matter the situation.” Jake’s skills have earned him a fair amount of recognition. “Jake has been recognized in high school, in team and local awards, and has played on Super Y teams, as well has helping club teams compete in or win tournaments such as Dallas Cup, IMG Showcase, CASL Showcase, Disney, etc. He wants to play in college and hopes to play professionally after school.” King is proud of Jake’s abilities and maturity. “The kid’s humility is unbelievable. He is unassuming, and is always looking to get better. He knows he can always improve, and is thus never satisfied no matter the level of performance.”
