IF YOU EVER WANT COLIN FULLER TO accomplish a goal, just tell him it will be almost impossible and that he will be unlikely to achieve it. Those messages have been a part of Colin’s life on the soccer field, from the world of percussion, and even his own body. Every person who describes Colin uses phrases that also describe the most successful athletes of his generation. Colin has a unique dedication to the game of soccer as a player, a fan and as a coach. Sometimes when your Mom, Dad and older brother play soccer, your own soccer career starts at the age of 4. In the last 12 years, Colin has played almost every position available in the youth development program and NPL teams at Space Coast United. What is unusual is that Colin trained and played goalkeeper for a few years in these programs. Three years ago, Colin gave up goalkeeper and decided to become a field player. Most of the players on his teams had been playing in the field since they were young. Colin had an incredible challenge ahead of him. According to his current coach, Nick Robinson, “Colin has worked harder than 90% of the players at the club” to achieve a successful transition from a goalie to a field player. There are few players who work harder, watch more games and are such a student of the tactics behind successful soccer teams. Colin is the creator and editor of the Space

Coast United Instagram account. There is no doubt he would have liked there to be such an account on the day he saved a penalty kick in a Disney President’s Day tournament when he was 14. He and his team went on to win that tournament and Colin has the trophy to prove it. Recently he has transitioned from being a volunteer at club camps to a larger role as a coaching assistant. Colin would love to play soccer at the collegiate level and has already stated to earn his coaching badges. Soccer has a future in our country because of our talented professional players, but also because of kids like Colin who see beyond the dream of playing in stadiums and just cannot imagine their future without wearing the title of Coach Fuller.
