BLAZE 03 RED ONE OF THE MORE SUCCESSFUL GIRL’S TEAMS competing for Trussville United Soccer Club, the Blaze ‘03 Red is a talented and tight-knit group of young players with a bright future ahead of them. Like many of the teams in Trussville, the Blaze ‘03 Red squad is made up of a core of girls who have been together since their U5 days, along with players from other locales, such as Springville, Pell City, and Odenville. Team manager Brian Richard says the way the girls have come together has been inspiring. “We’ve got a fairly large draw for that team,” Richard says. “The main nucleus of the kids on this team have been in the same class growing up, but the bond that they’ve built is very good.” The team was highly successful on the Division II level and made the transition to Division I in 2016, and will compete in the Southern Regional Premier League in 2017. Richard says they have the talent and drive to accomplish great things in soccer. “The competition that we play is very tough and every little thing, every little “A lot of times they look at themselves and ‘say we can’t do that’, shot, every move you make is vital,” says Richard. “It’s a good thing with but when they get out there they prove that they can do it.
