AVA FLANARY AVA FLANARY IS ONE OF FC DALLAS’ YOUNGEST STANDOUT players, says FC Dallas 07 U10 Select girls coach Nina Baker. An athlete since she took her first steps, Ava is known for her speed and tenacity to win the ball. She is extremely coachable, always asking for constructive criticism to improve her performance. “She is a dynamic central defender with great vision of the field” Baker says. Ava leads her team with a positive attitude and is always sharing words of support in times of success or failure. She is the daughter of Adriane and Aaron Flanary, who is a Marine veteran who passed on the “never give up” and “fight until the end” mentality which makes Ava a true standout. Coach Baker points out that, “Although she primarily plays defense, Ava is a versatile player and one of the leading scorers on the team with 21 goals during the fall 2016 season. She has the ability to navigate through opponents with speed, and has an incredibly powerful shot. Ava is one of those players who is truly enjoyable to coach.”
