ONE OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL TEAMS IN FUSION FUTBOL CLUB’S HISTORY IS THE 98 PREMIER GIRLS TEAM. Formed at the onset of the club’s founding in 2010, this group of talented young women has been together for seven years now, winning three Alabama state championships on the Division II level and advancing to one Final Four in Division I in 2014. They were one of the first clubs at Fusion to jump to the Premier division and have been an increasingly difficult team for their opponents to handle on the pitch due to their toughness and tenacity. “That’s a group of girls who have stayed together and fought through everything from being two different clubs and merging into one club. They had a little past history prior to coming together as one team,” explains Jeremiah Massa, director of coaching for Fusion. “They are a very energetic group with a lot of personality and a lot of grit.”
