Nashville United Soccer Academy for two years. Former ECNL coach Dana Weymouth has been impressed with Lupe Diaz from day one. “She plays with an understanding and maturity of a National team player. Her ability to see the play before it happens is amazing and she is always making those around her better,” says Coach Dana. At other clubs, a player such as Lupe might get lost in the system because there are so many teams training at different locations and she is small compared to many of her teammates. One of her goals is to stay local and play collegiately. NUSA’s model is a great fit for all players at different stages in their development. “Because of NUSA’s training structure and philosophy from U9-U19, a player like
Lupe will always be placed in an environment which both challenges her while allowing her to achieve success.” Dana went on to say, “Lupe is almost always the smallest player on the field, but she is great on the ball, she can take girls on the dribble, with combinations or even switch the point of attack.” Lupe plays on the NUSA 04 Girls White Division II team. She is small and soft-spoken on and off the field. She is known for her skillful touch on the ball and her ability to take on two or more players with her craftiness and guile. “If she continues to work hard both on and off the field, she will have a lot of support from this club when it comes to achieving her goals,” said Coach Dana.
