Inter Atlanta FC 00 BOYS ELITE HEAD COACH JOSH DIGIOVANNI’S 00 BOYS ELITE FINISHED FIRST in Classic 1 of Georgia soccer league and have been promoted to Region III RPL for fall 2017. Some players have been together since U10, but with the age group shift last year, two of the club’s best teams combined to make the current 2000B Elite team. They are also a close team, with a bond that goes deeper than soccer. “This team is a very attack-minded team, but they still put in the work defensively,” says social media director Frank Williamson. “They are not opposed to playing a defensive shape, but they have the ability to go forward at will. Next year will be a change in personality for this team. They will be playing against much better competition, and will have to be more balanced in their approach.” Perhaps because many of the players have been together so long,
this team plays for each other. “There isn’t much outside motivation. What motivates them is the fear of letting down their teammates. It is an extremely close group.” The team has one goal and that is to meet the expectations they set for themselves… whether that is winning the league, or working towards the chance to play in college. What makes club officials especially proud of the 00 Boys Elite? “That our team comes from all walks of life and economic situations, and that we look out for our players and make sure that they succeed off the field as well.”
