JOSIAH MORENO JOSIAH MORENO HAS BEEN PLAYING SOCCER HIS ENTIRE LIFE – all 10 years of it. He now plays outside back/outside midfield on Nate Sego’s Black 06 team. “Josiah is a very crafty and smart soccer player,” the head coach says. “On offense, he is all about moving the ball with his teammates to get it in the back of the net. On defense, he is what you would call a ‘workhorse.’ Josiah doesn’t care how big or aggressive an opposing player is whatsoever. Therefore, he takes on any challenge that is placed before him,” Sego says. Director of Coaching Andrew Petrou agrees whole-heartedly. “Josiah plays like he is double his size. We will be watching Josiah on ESPN in a few years. Guaranteed.” Sego says Josiah is a leader on and off the field. “His determination to always better himself on the field sets a good example for all of his teammates to see and mimic,” he said. “Off the field he is just your normal, easy-going, fun-loving kid who loves to have a laugh with his teammates/friends.” Sego has high praise for his outside back. “Josiah’s work ethic is better than most high school players’. No challenge is too big for him, and no position is unplayable outside of the goalie position for him. He is very intelligent, and knows how to grasp difficult concepts on the field. Josiah is going to go places when he gets older, and hopefully — one day —professional.”
