CLUB SPOTLIGHT CHEROKEE SOCCER ASSOCIATION IMPACT (CSA IMPACT) HAS BEEN A MAINSTAY of Georgia’s soccer scene since its founding in 1971. Located in the Northern Metro County of Cherokee, CSA Impact provides recreational and competitive soccer for kids in Woodstock, Holly Springs, Canton, Jasper and surrounding areas. The club offers recreational soccer beginning at age four, but only introduces kids to competitive play at age seven. Moreover, winning is not impressed on the kids until they’re almost old enough drive. “What’s a little different about us is winning is not emphasized until 15 and up,” explains Shane Moore, Executive Director of CSA Impact. The policy was implemented in our Select Program four years ago and has seen remarkable success.” Of course, we want our 13s playing in the highest division SHANE MOORE possible so they’re getting competition and developing, but until age 15 we have a Executive Director mandate where everyone plays half a game, and then age 15 and up it’s about results, USSF National B License getting wins and getting looks and opportunities for our kids for college and beyond.” NSCAA GK Level I & II Moore, along with Technical Director Alex Pama and a couple of additional staff USSF Director of Coaching License members, originally ran the club from 2000-2005, all leaving to focus on other USSF National Youth License endeavors for several years before returning in 2013.
