Orlando City 2007 Girls Pre ECNL

One of the more successful teams in the Orland City Youth Soccer Club system, the 2007 Girls Pre ECNL team has developed into a tight unit over a relatively short amount of time. Together now for only two years, this group of girls, coached by Dan Nolan, who also serves as Operations Coordinator for Orland City, has some major successes to their credit. Among their titles include: Disney Pre Season Tournament, Disney Thanksgiving Showcase , Orlando City Junior Pro, and Region B Commissioners Cup. Nolan says this group of girls has really absorbed the concepts and techniques emphasized by the club, especially building possession from the back rather than chasing the ball downfield on a punt by the goalkeeper. "We like the keep the ball on the floor as opposed to taking one or two touches and kicking the ball as far as you can," Nolan says. In addition to the team's combined high soccer IQ, Nolan says they also possess good chemistry. Simply put, the girls like each other and like to do things together as a group, an aspect that helps build camaraderie and trust on the field. "They do a lot of team bonding off the field and they very often go to Orlando Pride games together," Nolan says. "They're a very tight group which really helps with team morale and team cohesion." Nolan says the sky is the limit with this group of athletes and believes they have what it takes to win a state championship and even a national championship in the near future.
